Is a senior orthopaedic trauma surgery specialist since 2017, with a particular interest and subspecialization in shoulder injuries and disorders.
He performs both open surgical procedures such as shoulder joint arthroplasty, fracture fixations and stabilization shoulder surgeries, as well as arthroscopic procedures such as rotator cuff reconstructions, shoulder joint stabilisations and acromioclavicular joint stabilizations. Additionally, he performs hip joint replacements, arthroscopic knee surgeries, and other surgical interventions related to trauma, sports medicine and degenerative conditions. After completing his specialization, he continued his education abroad, actively participating in numerous international conferences—mostly focusing on shoulder surgery and sports injuries. These topics also form the core of his lectures. Dr. Ambrožič is the author of several scientific articles and is currently completing his PhD research in the field of the shoulder girdle. He is also involved in teaching at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana, where he lectures and mentors students in emergency medicine and surgery. His current clinical duties include providing continuous medical care at the emergency department in Ljubljana and managing complex trauma cases at University Medical Center in Ljubljana.
